Bourbon Sauce

Yield: about 2 cups
Prep Time: about 10 min
Cooking Time: about 22 min

Ingredients

1 tsp cornstarch
2 tsp water
1 pt (16oz) heavy cream
1/3 cup bourbon
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 Tbsp butter
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Preparation

1. Mix cornstarch and water together in small bowl, set aside.
2. In a large sauté pan combine heavy cream, bourbon and sugar and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes, stirring frequently.
3. Add butter and vanilla, cook 1 minute.
4. Add cornstarch slurry, while stirring. Bring to almost a boil and cook, stirring for 5 minutes.
5. Transfer to a serving bowl.
